Yuletide Carol Paper Pack Blog Hop

Welcome to the November Damask Divas Blog Hop featuring the Close to my Heart Yuletide Carol paper pack.  If you got here from Lilian’s blog post, you are in the right place.  You can always go to the Damask Divas blog to start at the beginning by clicking here.

This paper pack is traditional with red, green and muted holiday themes.  To be honest, I don’t scrapbook nearly as much as I make cards and home décor items.  The patterns on this paper called out to be a scrapbook layout however.  I am very happy with the two page layout I made.  I hope it inspires you too!

I like the designs printed on this paper, especially the birds and stockings.  It was easy to build a page around the design.  I added a small tree from the Artiste Close to my Heart Cricut cartridge just above the 25 that was already part of the page.  The negative cutout from the tree is to the right of the red bird in the lower left corner.  I added the four photo mats, the shimmer trim, the tree and the negative from the tree along with the sparkles and metal component from the Yuletide Carol assortment of embellishments.  The rest of the design you see is all part of the paper.

The other page was a more neutral design featuring the look of sheet music.  I cut the fancy border at the bottom of the page (also from the Artiste Close to my Heart cartridge) and the top Holly and Ivy border is the zip strip from the same page.  I added gold shimmer trim, stickers from the Yuletide Carol complements pack (the banners and holly) and more embellishments from the Yuletide Carol assortment pack.   The Noel decoration is a pocket card from the Artfully Sent Close to my Heart Cricut cartridge.  I cut it at about 3″ by 2 1/4″.

Here is a photo of the two pages side-by-side.

All that this two page layout needs are three 4×6 photos and three small images to complete it.  The photos can cover the colonial white “place holders”  or the photos can be cropped a little to achieve a double mat effect.  The photos do not do the shimmer trim and glittery bling gems justice. They add a nice sparkle to the layout without overwhelming the design.

Damask Divas Blog Hop with Huntington Paper Pack

Welcome to the November Damask Divas blog hop.  This  month we are featuring the Huntington paper pack from Close to my Heart.  If you got here from Traci’s blog you are in the right place.  If you want to start from the beginning or see the list of all participating CTMH Damask Divas bloggers, click here to go to the Damask Divas blog.

This paper is perfect for Autumn memories so I made a single page layout using photos that my sister and her family posted on Facebook.  My great-niece took her first trip to the pumpkin patch with my niece and then spent some time with her grandparents (my sister and brother-in-law).  They live in Florida so they don’t have the autumn chill to deal with but they still have pumpkins!  My brother-in-law, Danny, did an awesome job on the pumpkin carving and the photo of the lit pumpkin adds just a touch of spooky!

The papers are all from the Huntington pack except the pumpkins and words I added.  I used the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge for the words and the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the ovals in the paper pumpkin (oval3). I had the words and ovals on hand since I cut a lot to use on cards and tags.  I added some ink to the wooden arbor shapes.  The saying “A Harvest of Memories” is a zip strip from another pack (can’t remember which one – I save them all and use them when I need to add a little something).

If you are interested in browsing or buying on my CTMH website click here or go to http://cydneyfowlercreations.ctmh.com or visit your own consultant’s site if you have one.  Any of us are happy to be your consultant and help you to create your own memories!  Happy Crafting!

Damask Divas Blog Hop Laughing Lola Paper

Welcome to the Damask Divas October Blog Hop featuring the Laughing Lola Paper Pack!  If you got here from Shirley’s page you are in the right place.  You can always return to the Damask Diva’s Blog to start from the beginning.

Here is my display board for the Laughing Lola paper pack.  I really love the bright colored papers included in this pack.  Some colors are exclusive to this paper pack.

I also created a scrap book page using the new Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  You can only get this cartridge from Close to my Heart.  I love the way the layouts are themed and one key contains all of the elements of the page.  Each cut is proportional when you set the size according to the instructions on the page.  I left the setting at 11″ for the words, border and bow.  Could not be easier to make a coordinated themed page.  If you are interested in ordering Artbooking you can order from me online at my Close to my Heart page at http://cydneyfowlercreations.ctmh.com or from your own consultant.

Damask Divas June Hop Later Sk8r and Tommy

Welcome to the Damask Divas June Blog Hop.   If you came here from Sharon’s blog, you are in the right place.  You can always start over or from the beginning at the Damask Divas site. This month I made a Fathers’ Day card using Tommy and a scrapbook page featuring my beautiful grand-daughter Annabelle.

I made a double-pocket card for my father-in-law since we always tuck some money in a card for him.  There are a lot of tutorials on the Internet on how to make the pocket cards.  I made a tag with the same paper pack to tuck in the front pocket and the $ will go in the back pocket.  The Tommy papers are so appropriate since he was in the Coast Guard.  I cut the words “smooth sailing” off the strip from one piece of paper.  A simple card but bright and cheery.  It is a standard A2 card at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.

This is my favorite photo of Annabelle and I wrote that on my journaling card with the year the photo was taken so I could remember.  I cut 1 1/4″ circles on the Cricut and used the Urban Alphabet stamp set to stamp the letters GIRL POWER under the photo.  I used the pink zipper ribbon to pull out the pink in the shoes and shirt and also used the Cotton Candy ink pad to stamp the letters.
